✧ When the Evening Draws Near and the Call to Prayer Is Made

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ:
كُنْتُ مَعَ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَابْنِ طَلْحَةَ وَرِجَالٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَنُودِيَ بِالصَّلَاةِ، وَنَحْنُ عَلَى طَعَامٍ لَنَا، قَالَ أَنَسٌ: فَوَلَّيْتُ لِنَخْرُجَ فَحَبَسُونِي وَقَالُوا: أَفُتْيَا عِرَاقِيَّةٌ ؟ فَعَابُوا ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ حَتَّى جَلَسْتُ
Translation
✧ I was with Ubayy b. Kab, Ibn Talha, and some men of the Ansar, and the call to prayer was made while we were having our food. Anas said: I turned to go out, but they held me back and said: 'Is this an Iraqi legal opinion?' They criticized me for it until I sat down.
