✧ When the Evening Draws Near and the Call to Prayer Is Made

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ الْعَبْسِيِّ، عَنْ يَسَارِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ خَازِنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ:
دَعَانَا يَسَارٌ عَلَى طَعَامٍ، فَأَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَقُومَ حِينَ حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُنَا إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَوُضِعَ الطَّعَامُ، أَنْ نَبْدَأَ بِالطَّعَامِ
Translation
✧ Yasar invited us to a meal, and we wanted to stand when the prayer time came. He said: 'Umar used to order us, when the prayer time came and food was placed, to begin with the food.'
