✧ The Time of the Late Evening Prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ:
أَعْتَمَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ بِالْعِشَاءِ، حَتَّى رَقَدَ النَّاسُ، وَاسْتَيْقَظُوا، وَرَقَدُوا، وَاسْتَيْقَظُوا، فَقَامَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالَ: الصَّلَاةُ، فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ الْآنَ يَقْطُرُ رَأْسُهُ مَاءً وَاضِعٌ يَدَهُ ﷺ عَلَى شِقِّ رَأْسِهِ فَقَالَ: لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ أَنْ يُصَلُّوهَا هَكَذَا
Translation
✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ once delayed the Isha prayer until people slept, woke up, slept, and woke up. Then Umar b. al-Khattab stood up and said: The prayer! So the Prophet ﷺ came out and it is as if I can see him now with his head dripping water, placing his hand ﷺ on the side of his head. He said: Were it not that I would make things difficult for my Ummah, I would command them to pray it like this.
