machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us, from Maʿmar, from Qatādah, who said:
Machine translation, not reviewed
A man entered upon Abū Dharr and saw his wife disheveled, with no trace of saffron-dyed garments or perfume on her. He said: "This woman of mine tells me to go to Iraq, but if I went to Iraq they would say: 'This is Abū Dharr, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ,' and they would turn the world toward us. For the Prophet ﷺ informed us that ahead of us lies a bridge, before which there is slipperiness and a place where feet slip. That we should cross it while we are lightly burdened with our loads is better than that we should cross it while we are heavily laden."
