Translation
✧ Umar wrote to the people of the garrisons: Pray Dhuhr when the sun declines until the shadow of everything equals its length; Asr while the sun remains for the time a rider travels two or three farsakhs; Maghrib when the sun sets and night begins; Isha when the twilight disappears until one-third of the night. Do not be distracted from prayer. Whoever sleeps, may his eyes not sleep; whoever sleeps, may his eyes not sleep.
