عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ، عَنِ الشِّفَاءِ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَتْ:
دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ بَيْتِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَوَجَدَ عِنْدِي رَجُلَيْنِ نَائِمَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: وَمَا شَأْنُ هَذَيْنِ مَا شَهِدَا مَعِيَ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ قُلْتُ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ صَلَّيَا مَعَ النَّاسِ، وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَلَمْ يَزَالَا يُصَلِّيَانِ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَا، وَصَلَّيَا الصُّبْحَ، وَنَامَا، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: لَأَنْ أُصَلِّيَ الصُّبْحَ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ لَيْلَةً حَتَّى أُصْبِحَ
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab entered my house and found two men sleeping there. He said: "What is the matter with these two that they did not attend the prayer with me?" I said: "O Commander of the Faithful, they prayed with the people — and that was in Ramadan — and they kept praying until morning, then they prayed the morning prayer and slept." Umar said: "That I pray the morning prayer in congregation is dearer to me than that I pray through the night until morning."
