✧ A man praying with a decorated sword

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: السُّيُوفُ الْمُحَلَّاةُ أُصَلِّي فِيهَا ؟ قَالَ: أَكْرَهُهَا بِمَكَّةَ، وَأَمَّا بِغَيْرِهَا فَلَا أَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فِيهَا، قُلْتُ: وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي مَخَافَةٍ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ
Translation
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: Ornamented swords—may I pray while wearing them? He said: I dislike that in Makkah, but in other places I do not dislike praying while wearing them. I said: Even if there is no fear? He said: Yes.
