Translation
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: May I pray on smooth rock when I could find pebbles nearby if I wished? He said: No. I said: Would a dirt floor without pebbles, a place of hard earth with dust, suffice for me instead of pebbles, when I could find pebbles nearby if I wished? He said: If there is dust, it is enough for you.
