عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتِ مِحْصَنٍ الْأَسَدِيَّةِ أُخْتِ عُكَّاشَةَ قَالَتْ:
جَاءَتْ بَابْنٍ لَهَا قَدْ أَعْلَقَتْ عَلَيْهِ تَخَافُ أَنْ يَكُونَ بِهِ الْعُذْرَةُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: عَلَى مَاذَا تَدْغَرُونَ أَوْلَادَكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الْعُلُقِ ؟ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ - يَعْنِي الْكُسْتَ - فَإِنَّ فِيهِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ، مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ صَبِيَّهَا، فَوَضَعَهُ فِي حِجْرِهِ فَبَالَ عَلَيْهِ فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَنَضَحَهُ وَلَمْ يَكُنِ الصَّبِيُّ بَلَغَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الطَّعَامَ
Translation
✧ A woman came with a son of hers on whom she had hung amulets, fearing that he might have the 'udhra. The Prophet ﷺ said: On what do you medicate your children with these amulets? You should use this Indian wood—meaning costus—for in it there are four cures, among them pleurisy. Then the Prophet ﷺ took her boy and placed him in his lap, and he urinated on him. He called for water and sprinkled it, and the boy had not yet reached the age of eating food.
