machine translationHe said: On this topic there are narrations from ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar and Abū Rāfiʿ. Abū ʿĪsā said: The hadith of Abū Hurayrah is a good and strange (ḥasan gharīb) hadith. Abū Tumaylah and Yūnus b. Muḥammad narrated this hadith from Fulayḥ b. Sulaymān, from Saʿīd b. al-Ḥārith, from Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh. He said: Some of the people of knowledge have regarded it as recommended for the imam, when he goes out by one road, to return by another, following this hadith, and this is the view of al-Shāfiʿī. The hadith of Jābir seems to be more authentic (aṣaḥḥ).
