machine translationYaḥyā b. Mūsā narrated to us: Muḥammad b. Abī Maʿshar narrated to us, the like of it. Abū ʿĪsā said: The hadith of Abū Hurayrah has been narrated from him through other routes as well. Some of the people of knowledge have spoken about Abū Maʿshar because of his memory; his name is Najīḥ, the freed slave of Banū Hāshim. Muḥammad said: I do not narrate anything from him, though people have narrated from him. Muḥammad said: The hadith of ʿAbdullāh b. Jaʿfar al-Makhramī, from ʿUthmān b. Muḥammad al-Akhnasī, from Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah is stronger than the hadith of Abū Maʿshar and more authentic.
