"Messenger of Allah would teach us the Tashah-hud just as he would teach us the Qur'an. He would say: (At-Tahiyyatu, al mubarakatu, as-salawatu at-tayyibatulillah. 'All greetings, goodness, prayers, and pure words are for Allah. Peace be upon you O Prophet, and Allah's mercy and His blessings, Peace be upon us and all of the righteous worshippers of Allah. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is Allah's worshipper and Messenger.'"

machine translationAbū ʿĪsā said: The ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās is a good (ḥasan), strange (gharīb), authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) ḥadīth. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Ḥumayd al-Ruʾāsī also narrated this ḥadīth from Abū al-Zubayr, similar to the ḥadīth of al-Layth b. Saʿd. And Aymān b. Nābil al-Makkī narrated this ḥadīth from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, and it is not preserved (ghayr maḥfūẓ). Al-Shāfiʿī followed the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās regarding the tashahhud.

machine translationIts narrators are trustworthy (thiqāt), except that Aymān b. Nāyil, who narrated it from Abū al-Zubayr, made a mistake in its chain of transmission. Al-Layth, who is among the most reliable of people regarding Abū al-Zubayr, contradicted him and said: from Abū al-Zubayr, from Ṭāwūs and Saʿīd b. Jubayr, from Ibn ʿAbbās.
