Translation

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I forbid naming with Rafi, Barakah and Yasar."

  machine translationAbū al-Zubayr and Wahb b. Munabbih narrated it from Jābir. There is disagreement about it from al-Zuhrī. Ismāʿīl b. Ibrāhīm b. ʿUqbah narrated it from his uncle Mūsā b. ʿUqbah, from al-Zuhrī, who said: Ibn Tadrus, that is Abū al-Zubayr, narrated to me from Jābir, from ʿUmar. Muḥammad b. Fulayḥ contradicted him, narrating it from Mūsā b. ʿUqbah, from al-Zuhrī, who said: Jābir said, from ʿUmar, as a mursal report. Abū Aḥmad al-Zubayrī narrated this hadith from al-Thawrī, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, from ʿUmar, and he attached to it other words, which he inserted into it, from the Prophet ﷺ: "I will surely forbid naming (anyone) Rabāḥ and Najīḥ." He erred in inserting these words from ʿUmar. Others narrate it from al-Thawrī, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, from the Prophet ﷺ, and that is the correct (ṣaḥīḥ) version. Report a problem
