حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ قَالَ: نَا مُعَلَّلُ بْنُ نُفَيْلٍ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ الْعُكَّاشِيُّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ. عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ:

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُسَمِّيَ الرَّجُلُ عَبْدَهُ أَوْ وَلَدَهُ حَارِثًا، أَوْ مُرَّةً، أَوْ وَلِيدًا، أَوْ حَكَمًا، أَوْ أَبَا الْحَكَمِ، أَوْ أَفْلَحَ، أَوْ نَجِيحًا، أَوْ يَسَارًا، وَقَالَ: " أَحَبُّ الْأَسْمَاءِ إِلَى اللهِ مَا تُعُبِّدَ بِهِ، وَأَصْدَقُ الْأَسْمَاءِ هَمَّامٌ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a man naming his slave or his child Harith, Murrah, Walid, Hakam, Abu al-Hakam, Aflah, Najih, or Yasar. And he said: “The most beloved of names to Allah are those by which He is worshiped, and the truest of names is Hammam.”
