machine translationThis hadith is among those that al-Dāraquṭnī criticised against Muslim (istidrāk). He said: Raising it to the Prophet ﷺ is an error (wahm); al-Thawrī, Marwān and others narrated it from al-ʿAlāʾ b. Khālid as a statement stopping at the Companion (mawqūf). Ḥafṣ is trustworthy (thiqah), a memorizer (ḥāfiẓ), an imam, so the addition of raising it is accepted, as was previously reported from most of the scholars and the verifying researchers.

machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī criticised it against Muslim (istidrāk).
in جامع الترمذي, p. 2789 - Dāraquṭnī
machine translationThe mawqūf version is more correct in my view, even though Muslim included the hadith of ʿUmar b. Ḥafṣ in the Ṣaḥīḥ.
