machine translationAḥmad b. al-Ḥasan narrated to us, ʿAbdullāh b. Maslamah narrated to us, from Mālik, similarly, and he said: "Ibn Abī ʿAmrah." He said: This is a good (ḥasan) ḥadīth. Most people say "ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī ʿAmrah." They differed regarding Mālik in the narration of this ḥadīth: some of them narrated from Abū ʿAmrah, and some of them narrated from Ibn Abī ʿAmrah, who is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī ʿAmrah al-Anṣārī, and this is more correct (aṣaḥḥ), because it has been narrated through other than the ḥadīth of Mālik, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī ʿAmrah, from Zayd b. Khālid. Another ḥadīth besides this one has also been narrated from Ibn Abī ʿAmrah, from Zayd b. Khālid, and it is also a sound (ṣaḥīḥ) ḥadīth. Abū ʿAmrah is the freed slave (mawlā) of Zayd b. Khālid al-Juhanī, and he has the ḥadīth of misappropriation of war booty (ghulūl). Most people say "ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī ʿAmrah."
