machine translationHe said: On this topic there are narrations from ʿAlī, ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd, Zayd b. Thābit, ʿĀʾishah, Ḥafṣah, Abū Hurayrah and Abū Hāshim b. ʿUtbah. Abū ʿĪsā said: Muḥammad said: ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh said: The ḥadīth of al-Ḥasan from Samurah b. Jundab is a sound (ṣaḥīḥ) ḥadīth, and he did hear from him. Abū ʿĪsā said: The ḥadīth of Samurah on the middle prayer is a good and sound (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ) ḥadīth, and it is the view of most of the scholars among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ and others. Zayd b. Thābit and ʿĀʾishah said: The middle prayer is the Ẓuhr prayer. Ibn ʿAbbās and Ibn ʿUmar said: The middle prayer is the Ṣubḥ prayer. Abū Mūsā Muḥammad b. al-Muthannā narrated to us: Quraysh b. Anas narrated to us, from Ḥabīb b. al-Shahīd, who said: Muḥammad b. Sīrīn said to me: Ask al-Ḥasan from whom he heard the ḥadīth of the ʿaqīqah. So I asked him, and he said: I heard it from Samurah b. Jundab. Abū ʿĪsā said: Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl informed me: ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Madīnī narrated to us, from Quraysh b. Anas, with this ḥadīth. Muḥammad said: ʿAlī said: The hearing of al-Ḥasan from Samurah is sound, and he used this ḥadīth as evidence.

What scholars said about it
In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.
- al-Tirmidhi
حديث الحسن عن سمرة حديث صحيح وقد سمع منه حديث سمرة في صلاة الوسطى حديث حسن صحيح
machine translationThe ḥadīth of al-Ḥasan from Samurah is a sound (ṣaḥīḥ) ḥadīth, and he did hear from him. The ḥadīth of Samurah on the middle prayer is a good and sound (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ) ḥadīth.
in جامع الترمذي, p. 185 - ʿAlī al-Madīnī
حديث الحسن عن سمرة صحيح وقد سمع منه
machine translationThe ḥadīth of al-Ḥasan from Samurah is sound (ṣaḥīḥ), and he did hear from him.
in جامع الترمذي, p. 185 - al-Tirmidhi
حديث حسن
machine translationA good (ḥasan) hadith.
in جامع الترمذي, p. 185 - Shawkānī
machine translationThus he graded it good (ḥasan) here and graded it sound (ṣaḥīḥ) in the Tafsīr. There is disagreement about the soundness of al-Ḥasan's hearing from Samurah. Shuʿbah said: He did not hear anything from him. It is also said: He heard from him the ḥadīth of the ʿaqīqah. Al-Bukhārī said: ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī said: The hearing of al-Ḥasan from Samurah is sound. And the one who affirms takes precedence over the one who denies.
