حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْزَلَهُمْ فِي قُبَّةٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لِيَكُونَ أَرَقَّ لِقُلُوبِهِمْ، فَاشْتَرَطُوا عَلَيْهِ حِينَ أَسْلَمُوا أَنْ لَا يُحْشَرُوا وَلَا يُعْشَرُوا وَلَا يُجَبُّوا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَكُمْ أَلَّا تُحْشَرُوا وَلَا تُعْشَرُوا وَلَا تُجَبُّوا، وَلَا خَيْرَ فِي دِينٍ لَيْسَ فِيهِ رُكُوعٌ

Translation

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ lodged them in a tent in the mosque so that it would be softer for their hearts. When they accepted Islam, they stipulated upon him that they would not be mustered, nor tithed, nor conscripted. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "You shall not be mustered, nor tithed, nor conscripted, and there is no good in a religion that has no bowing."
