حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزِّبْرِقَانِ، عَنْ زُهْرَةَ، قَالَ:
كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، فَأَرْسَلُوا إِلَى أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى، فَقَالَ: هِيَ الظُّهْرُ، " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّيهَا بِالْهَجِيرِ
Translation

✧ We were sitting with Zayd b. Thabit, and they sent for Usamah b. Zayd and asked him about the middle prayer. He said, 'It is Zuhr. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray it in the midday heat.'
