✧ That Humamah—a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ—raided Isfahan with al-Ash'ari, and Isfahan was conquered in the time of 'Umar ؓ. He said: "O Allah, Humamah claims that he loves to meet You. O Allah, if he is truthful, then make him steadfast in his truthfulness; and if he is lying, then impose it upon him even if he dislikes it. O Allah, do not return Humamah from this journey of his." Then he died in Isfahan. Al-Ash'ari stood up and said: "O people, by Allah, based on what we heard from your Prophet ﷺ, and the extent of our knowledge is only that Humamah is a martyr."
