✧ A man called Humamah, one of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ, went out to Isfahan as a warrior during the caliphate of Umar ؓ. He said: 'O Allah, Humamah claims that he loves to meet You. If Humamah is truthful, then confirm him in his truthfulness; and if he is lying, then impose it upon him even if he dislikes it. O Allah, do not bring Humamah back from this journey of his.' He said: Death seized him—and Affan once said: the stomach—so he died in Isfahan. Abu Musa then stood and said: 'O people, by Allah, we have not heard, in what we have heard from your Prophet ﷺ, and as far as our knowledge reaches, except that Humamah is a martyr.'
