حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَلَّامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ:
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، اسْتَعْمِلْنِي، قَالَ: يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ، إِنَّكَ ضَعِيفٌ، وَإِنَّهَا أَمَانَةٌ، فَهِيَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ خِزْيٌ وَنَدَامَةٌ إِلَّا مَنْ أَخَذَهَا بِحَقِّهَا وَأَدَّى الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ فِيهَا
Translation

✧ I said: 'O Messenger of God, appoint me to a position of authority.' He said: 'O Abu Dharr, you are weak, and it is a trust. On the Day of Resurrection it will be disgrace and regret except for one who takes it with its right and fulfills what is due from him in it.'
