حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الصَّعْقُ بْنُ حَزْنٍ، عَنْ عَقِيلٍ الْجَعْدِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

" يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ أَتَدْرِي أَيُّ عُرَى الْإِسْلَامِ أَوْثَقُ ؟ "، قُلْتُ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: " الْوَلَايَةُ فِي اللهِ، وَالْحُبُّ فِي اللهِ، وَالْبُغْضُ فِي اللهِ، يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ، أَتَدْرِي أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَعْلَمُ ؟ "، قُلْتُ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: " فَإِنَّ أَعْلَمَ النَّاسِ أَعْلَمُهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُقَصِّرًا فِي الْعِلْمِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ يَزْحَفُ عَلَى اسْتِهِ زَحْفًا

✧ "O 'Abdullah, do you know which of the bonds of Islam is most reliable?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Allegiance for the sake of Allah, love for the sake of Allah, and hatred for the sake of Allah. O 'Abdullah, do you know which of the people is most knowledgeable?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "The most knowledgeable of people is the one most knowledgeable of the truth when people differ, even if he is deficient in knowledge, and even if he crawls on his backside."
