✧ Love for the Sake of Allah Is Part of Faith

قَالَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ: حَدَّثَنَا الصَّعْقُ بْنُ حَزْنٍ، عَنْ عَقِيلٍ الْجَعْدِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ، أَتَدْرِي أَيُّ عُرَى الْإِسْلَامِ أَوْثَقُ ؟ قُلْتُ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ ﷺ: الْوَلَايَةُ فِي اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَالْحُبُّ فِي اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَالْبُغْضُ فِي اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى

✧ "O Abdullah, do you know which of the bonds of Islam is most firm?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He ﷺ said: "Allegiance for the sake of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), love for the sake of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and hatred for the sake of Allah (Blessed and Exalted)."
