✧ "Whomever you catch cutting something from the trees—meaning the trees of the Ḥaram—his spoils are yours. Its trees are not to be cut or chopped." Saʿd saw young men cutting, so he took their belongings. They went to their masters and told them that Saʿd had done such and such. They came to him and said: O Abā Isḥāq, your servant—or your clients—took the belongings of our servants. He said: Rather, I took it. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: Whomever you catch cutting from the trees of the Ḥaram, his spoils are yours. But ask me from my wealth whatever you wish.
