✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ urging [the people to equip] the army of hardship. Uthman b. Affan stood and said: One hundred camels with their saddles and packs in the path of God. Then he urged a second time, and Uthman stood and said: Two hundred camels with their saddles and packs in the path of God. Then he urged a third time, and Uthman stood and said: Three hundred camels with their saddles and packs in the path of God. He said: I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ descending from the pulpit saying: No blame upon Uthman for what he does after this—twice or thrice.
