حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، قَالَ: نَا السَّكَنُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ، عَنْ فَرْقَدٍ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَنَابٍ، قَالَ:
شَهِدْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حَثَّ عَلَى جَيْشِ الْعُسْرَةِ، فَقَامَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ عَلَيَّ مِائَةُ بَعِيرٍ بِأَحْلَاسِهَا وَأَقْتَابِهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، فَأَنَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ: مَا عَلَى عُثْمَانَ مَا عَمِلَ بَعْدَ هَذَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ.

✧ I witnessed the Prophet ﷺ urging support for the army of hardship. Uthman b. Affan stood up and said: "O Messenger of God, I pledge one hundred camels with their saddles and packs in the path of God." I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ on the pulpit saying: "Nothing that Uthman does after this will harm him."
