حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:

كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الطَّوَافِ، فَانْقَطَعَتْ شِسْعُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَاوِلْنِي أُصْلِحْهُ ! قَالَ: هَذَا أَثَرَةٌ، وَلَا أُحِبُّ الْأَثَرَةَ

Translation

✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ during the tawaf, and his sandal strap broke. I said: 'O Messenger of God, hand it to me and I will fix it!' He said: 'This is a privilege, and I do not like privilege.'
