حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ:

خَصْلَتَانِ حَفِظْتُهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُحِبُّ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ؛ فَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ، وَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، لِيُحِدَّ شَفْرَتَهُ ثُمَّ لِيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ

✧ Two traits I memorized from the Prophet ﷺ. He said: "God, Mighty and Majestic, loves excellence in all things. So when you slaughter, slaughter well, and when you kill, kill well. Let each of you sharpen his blade and give ease to his animal."
