✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ at the time of al-Hudaybiyyah, in a state of ihram, while the polytheists had blocked us from the House. I had long hair, and lice were falling on me—or he said on my face. The Messenger of God ﷺ said to me, "Do your parasites bother you?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Shave your head and fast three days, or feed six poor people, or offer a sacrifice."

machine translationThe sound report of Kaʿb b. ʿUjrah is what Ibn Abī Laylā narrated, while the narrations of the others are unsettled (muḍṭarib) and mistaken. It is therefore obligatory to abandon what is unsettled in it and to return to the narration of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, which is not unsettled.
