حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّهْشَلِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى خَمْسًا فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ «لَا وَمَا ذَاكَ؟» قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا قَالَ «فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلَكُمْ أَذْكُرُ كَمَا تَذْكُرُونَ وَأَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ» ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ that he prayed five rakʿahs. When he finished, it was said, “O Messenger of Allah, has something been added to the prayer?” He said, “No, and what is that?” They said, “You prayed five.” He said, “I am only a human being like you; I remember as you remember and forget as you forget.” Then he prostrated the two prostrations of forgetfulness.
