حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ جَاءَ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ
إِنِّي طَلَّقْتُ امْرَأَتِي تِسْعًا وَتِسْعِينَ وَإِنِّي سَأَلْتُ فَقِيلَ قَدْ بَانَتْ مِنِّي فَقَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ «لَقَدْ أَحَبُّوا أَنْ تُفِرَّقَ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهَا» قَالَ فَمَا تَقُولُ رَحِمَكَ اللهُ؟ فَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ سَيُرَخِّصُ لَهُ فَقَالَ «ثَلَاثٌ تُبِينُهَا مِنْكَ وَسَائِرُهُنَّ عُدْوَانٌ»

✧ I divorced my wife ninety-nine times, and I asked and was told that she has become separated from me. Ibn Mas'ud said: “They loved that separation be made between you and her.” He said: What do you say, may Allah have mercy on you? He thought that he would grant him a concession. He said: “Three separate her from you, and the rest of them are aggression.”
