حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ وَزَوْجُهَا إِلَى عُمَرَ فَقَالَتْ
يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ زَوْجِي طَلَّقَنِي فَانْقَطَعَ عَنِّي الدَّمُ مُنْذُ ثَلَاثِ حِيَضٍ فَأَتَانِي وَقَدْ وَضَعْتُ مَائِي وَرَدَدْتُ بَابِي وَخَلَعْتُ ثِيَابِي فَقَالَ قَدْ رَاجَعْتُكِ قَدْ رَاجَعْتُكِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ مَا تَرَى فِيهَا؟ قَالَ «أَرَى أَنَّهَا امْرَأَتُهُ مَا دُونَ أَنْ تَحِلَّ لَهَا الصَّلَاةُ» قَالَ عُمَرُ «وَأَنَا أَرَى ذَلِكَ»

✧ O Commander of the Believers, my husband divorced me, and my bleeding ceased for three menstrual periods. Then he came to me after I had placed my water (for ghusl), closed my door, and taken off my clothes, and said: “I have taken you back, I have taken you back.” Umar said to Ibn Masʿud: “What do you think about her?” He said: “I think she is his wife as long as prayer has not become lawful for her.” Umar said: “And I think that too.”
