حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا شُعْبَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْأَحْوَصِ قَالَ قَالَ
عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ {يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ} قَالَ الطَّلَاقُ لِلْعِدَّةِ أَنْ تُطَلِّقَهَا طَاهِرًا ثُمَّ تَدَعَهَا حَتَّى تَقْضِيَ عِدَّتَهَا أَوْ تُرَاجِعَهَا إِنْ شِئْتَ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَأَهْلُ الْكُوفَةِ يَقُولُونَ «عَنْ غَيْرِ جِمَاعٍ»

✧ Abd Allah b. Masʿud said regarding {O Prophet, when you divorce women, divorce them at their prescribed periods}: “The divorce at the prescribed period is that you divorce her when she is pure, then leave her until she completes her waiting period, or take her back if you wish.” Shuʿbah said: The people of Kufa say: “without intercourse.”
