حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَقْمَرِ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ الْأَزْمَعِ قَالَ
اعْتَكَفَ رَجُلٌ فِي خَيْمَةٍ لَهُ فَحَصَبَهُ النَّاسُ فَأَرْسَلَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَجَاءَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «فَطَرَدَ النَّاسَ وَحَسَّنَ ذَلِكَ»

✧ A man observed iʿtikāf in a tent of his, and people pelted him with pebbles. The man sent for ʿAbd Allah b. Masʿūd, and ʿAbd Allah came, «drove the people away, and deemed that commendable.»
