حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ
لِابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَلَا تَعْجَبْ مِنْ قَوْمٍ بَيْنَ دَارِكَ وَدَارِ أَبِي مُوسَى يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُمْ مُعْتَكِفُونَ قَالَ «فَلَعَلَّهُمْ أَصَابُوا وَأَخْطَأْتَ أَوْ حَفِظُوا وَنَسِيتَ» قَالَ «أَمَّا أَنَا فَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّهُ لَا اعْتِكَافَ إِلَّا فِي مَسْجِدِ جَمَاعَةٍ»

✧ "Do not be surprised by the people between your house and the house of Abu Musa who claim that they are in seclusion," Ibn Mas'ood said. "Perhaps they have succeeded and you have failed, or they have remembered and you have forgotten." He said, "As for me, I have learned that seclusion is only in the congregational mosque."
