حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
إِنَّمَا النِّسَاءُ عَوْرَةٌ وَإِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ لَتَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْتِهَا وَمَا بِهَا مِنْ بَأْسٍ فَيَسْتَشْرِفُ لَهَا الشَّيْطَانُ فَيَقُولُ إِنَّكِ لَا تَمُرِّينَ بِأَحَدٍ إِلَّا أَعْجَبْتِيهِ وَإِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ لَتَلْبَسُ ثِيَابَهَا فَيُقَالُ أَيْنَ تُرِيدِينَ؟ فَتَقُولُ أَعُودُ مَرِيضًا أَشْهَدُ جِنَازَةً أَوْ أَصَلِّي فِي مَسْجِدٍ وَمَا عَبَدَتِ امْرَأَةٌ رَبَّهَا بِمِثْلِ أَنْ تَعْبُدَهُ فِي بَيْتِهَا
Translation

✧ Women are but ʿawrah. Indeed, a woman leaves her house while there is nothing wrong with her, and Satan seeks to raise himself up for her, saying: “You will not pass by anyone but that you will charm him.” And indeed, a woman puts on her clothes, and it is said: “Where do you intend to go?” She replies: “I am visiting a sick person, attending a funeral, or praying in a mosque.” But a woman has not worshipped her Lord with anything like worshipping Him in her home.
