حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ
عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ فَقَالَ «اصْحَبْنِي كَيْمَا تُصِيبَ مِنْهَا» قُلْتُ حَتَّى آتِيَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ مَوْلَى الْقَوْمِ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَإِنَّا لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ»

✧ From his father, who was a client of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man from Banu Makhzum to collect zakat. He said: 'Accompany me so that you may receive some of it.' I said: 'Wait until I ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' So I came to him and asked him. He said: 'The client of a people is one of them, and indeed zakat is not lawful for us.'
