حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَمَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَجِيلَةَ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ جَارِيَةً بِكْرًا وَإِنِّي قَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ تَفْرِكَنِي فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «إِنَّ الْإِلْفَ مِنَ اللهِ وَإِنَّ الْفَرْكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ لِيُكَرِّهَ إِلَيْهِ مَا أَحَلَّ اللهُ لَهُ فَإِذَا دَخَلْتَ عَلَيْهَا فَمُرْهَا فَلْتُصَلِّ خَلْفَكَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ» قَالَ الْأَعْمَشُ فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَقُلْ اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِي أَهْلِي وَبَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيَّ اللهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي مِنْهُمْ وَارْزُقْهُمْ مِنِّي اللهُمَّ اجْمَعَ بَيْنَنَا مَا جَمَعْتَ إِلَى خَيْرٍ وَفَرِّقْ بَيْنَنَا إِذَا فَرَّقْتَ إِلَى خَيْرٍ

✧ A man from Bajilah came to Abdullah and said: “I have married a virgin slave girl, and I fear that she may dislike me.” Abdullah said: “Indeed affection is from Allah, and dislike is from Satan, so that he may make hateful to him what Allah has made lawful for him. So when you enter upon her, tell her to pray two rakʿahs behind you.” Al-Aʿmash said: I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and he said: Abdullah said: “And say: O Allah, bless me in my family and bless them in me. O Allah, provide me from them and provide them from me. O Allah, join us together as long as You join us in good, and separate us when You separate us to good.”
