حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ «لَا يَزَالُ النَّاسُ صَالِحِينَ مُتَمَاسِكِينَ مَا أَتَاهُمُ الْعِلْمُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَمِنْ أَكَابِرِهِمْ فَإِذَا أَتَاهُمْ مِنْ أَصَاغِرِهِمْ هَلَكُوا»

✧ I heard Ibn Mas'ud say: People will remain righteous and cohesive as long as knowledge comes to them from the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ and from their elders. When it comes to them from their young ones, they perish.
