حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ جَاءَ عَتْرِيسُ بْنُ عُرْقُوبٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ فَقَالَ

هَلَكَ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ فَقَالَ «بَلْ هَلَكَ مَنْ لَمْ يَعْرِفْ قَلْبُهُ الْمَعْرُوفَ وَيُنْكِرْ قَلْبُهُ الْمُنْكَرَ»

✧ He said: "He is ruined who does not enjoin good and forbid evil." He said: "Rather, he is ruined whose heart does not know the good and whose heart does not reject the evil."
