حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّحْوِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ وَمُغِيرَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

اسْتَقْرَأَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ سُورَةَ النِّسَاءِ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَرَأْتُهُ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغْتُ {فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ شَهِيدًا} اغْرَوْرَقَتْ عَيْنَا رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ «مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ كَمَا أُنْزِلَ فَلْيَقْرَأْهُ عَلَى قِرَاءَةِ ابْنِ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ asked me to recite Surat al-Nisaʾ while he was on the pulpit, so I recited it until when I reached, “So how will it be when We bring from every community a witness and bring you as a witness against these?” the eyes of the Messenger of God ﷺ filled with tears, and he said, “Whoever is pleased to recite the Qurʾan as it was revealed, let him recite it according to the recitation of Ibn Umm ʿAbd.”
