حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ ؓ قَالَ
«وَاللهِ مَا نَزَلَتْ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ سُورَةٌ إِلَّا أَنَا أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ أُنْزِلَتْ وَلَا أُنْزِلَتْ مِنْهُ آيَةٌ إِلَّا أَنَا أَعْلَمُ فِيمَا أُنْزِلَتْ وَلَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا أَعْلَمُ بِكِتَابِ اللهِ مِنِّي تَبْلُغُهُ الْإِبِلُ لَأَتَيْتُهُ»

✧ “By Allah, no surah of the Quran was revealed except that I know where it was revealed, and no verse of it was revealed except that I know concerning what it was revealed. If I knew anyone more knowledgeable in the Book of Allah than me, whom camels could reach, I would go to him.”
