حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدٌ الْعِجْلُ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ

سُئِلَ عَبْدُ اللهِ مَا الَّذِي كُنْتَ دَعَوْتَ بِهِ لَيْلَةَ قَالَ لَكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «سَلْ تُعْطَهْ» قَالَ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيمَانًا لَا يَرْتَدُّ وَنَعِيمًا لَا يَنْفَدُ وَمُرَافَقَةَ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فِي أَعْلَى دَرَجَةِ الْخُلْدِ

Translation

✧ 'Abdullah was asked: "What was it you supplicated for on the night when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to you: 'Ask, and you will be given'?" He said: "O Allah, I ask You for faith that does not turn back, bliss that never ends, and the companionship of Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the highest degree of eternity."
