حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ عَنْ سَلَّامِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سَرِيعٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِأَسِيرٍ فَقَالَ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ وَلَا أَتُوبُ إِلَى مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «عَرَفَ الْحَقَّ لِأَهْلِهِ»

✧ A captive was brought to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, “O God, I repent to You, but I do not repent to Muhammad.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “He has acknowledged the truth for its people.”
