حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا فَرَجُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبْيَضَ بْنِ حَمَّالٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي ثَابِتُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبْيَضَ بْنِ حَمَّالٍ

أَنَّهُ اسْتَقْطَعَ الْمِلْحَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الَّذِي يُقَالُ لَهُ شَذَّا بِمَأْرِبَ فَقَطَعَهُ لَهُ ثُمَّ إِنَّ الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيَّ قَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ وَرَدْتُ الْمِلْحَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَهُوَ بِأَرْضٍ فَمَنْ وَرَدَهُ أَخَذَهُ وَهُوَ مِثْلُ الْمَاءِ الْعِدِّ قَالَ فَاسْتَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَبْيَضَ بْنَ حَمَّالٍ فِي قَطِيعَتِهِ فَقَالَ أَبْيَضُ قَدْ أَقَلْتُهُ مِنْهُ عَلَى أَنْ يَجْعَلَهُ مِنِّي صَدَقَةً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هُوَ مِنْكَ صَدَقَةٌ وَهُوَ مِثْلُ الْمَاءِ الْعِدِّ فَمَنْ وَرَدَهُ أَخَذَهُ» قَالَ فَقَطَعَ لَهُ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ أَرْضًا وَعُشْبًا بِالْجَوْفِ جَوْفِ مُرَادٍ مَكَانَهُ حِينَ أَقَالَهُ مِنْهُ وَأَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ حِمَى الْأَرَاكِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا حِمَى فِي الْأَرَاكِ» فَقَالَ أَرَاكَةٌ فِي حِظَارِي فَقَالَ «لَا حِمَى فِي الْأَرَاكِ» قَالَ فَرَجٌ «يَعْنِي أَبْيَضَ فِي حِظَارِي الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي فِيهَا الزَّرْعُ الْمُحَاطُ عَلَيْهِ»

✧ He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to grant him the salt that is called Shadda in Ma'rib, and he granted it to him. Then al-Aqra' b. Habis al-Tamimi said, “O Prophet of Allah, I came to the salt in the Jahiliyyah, and it is in a land where whoever comes to it takes it, and it is like standing water.” He said: So the Prophet ﷺ asked Abyad b. Hammal to revoke his grant. Abyad said, “I have revoked it from him on condition that you make it sadaqah from me.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “It is sadaqah from you, and it is like standing water: whoever comes to it takes it.” He said: So the Prophet of Allah ﷺ granted him land and pasture in al-Jawf, the Jawf of Murad, in its place when he revoked it from him. And he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the protected area of the arak tree. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “There is no protected area in the arak.” He said, “An arak tree in my enclosure.” He said, “There is no protected area in the arak.” Faraj said: “Meaning, Abyad, in my enclosure is the land that contains the crops and is surrounded by it.”
