حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحِنَّائِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُوحِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ ثنا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ثنا أَبُو غَالِبٍ قَالَ
أُتِيَ بِرُءُوسٍ حَرُورِيَّةٍ فَنُصِبَتْ عَلَى دَرَجِ دِمَشْقَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا أَبُو أُمَامَةَ وَهِيَ مَنْصُوبَةٌ فَقَالَ «شَرُّ قَتْلَى تَحْتَ السَّمَاءِ هَؤُلَاءِ ثَلَاثًا طُوبَى لِمَنْ قَتَلَهُمْ وَطُوبَى لِمَنْ قَتَلُوهُ» فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا أُمَامَةَ أَشَيْئًا تَقُولُهُ بِرَأْيِكَ أَمْ شَيْئًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «إِنِّي إِذًا لَجَرِيءٌ ثَلَاثًا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ»

✧ Some Ḥarūriyyah heads were brought and set up on the steps of Damascus. Abu Umamah looked at them while they were set up and said: “The worst of those slain under the sky are these—three times. Blessed is the one who killed them, and blessed is the one whom they killed.” I said: “O Abu Umamah, is it something you say by your own opinion, or something you heard from the Messenger of God ﷺ?” He said: “Then I would be very bold—three times. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say that.”
