✧ I entered upon Abu Umamah while he was delousing himself in the mosque and burying the lice in the pebbles. I said, “O Abu Umamah, a man told me on your authority that you heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, ‘Whoever performs ablution and completes it, washing his hands and face and wiping his head and ears, then rises to an obligatory prayer, God will forgive him on that day whatever evil his feet walked toward, his hands grasped, his ears heard, his eyes looked upon, and his self whispered.’” He said, “By God, I heard from the Prophet ﷺ what I cannot count.”
