حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَغَوِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ أَوِ ابْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرَيْتُ مِقْسَمَ فُلَانَ فَرَبِحْتُ عَلَيْهِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ «أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكَ بِمَا هُوَ أَكْثَرُ رِبْحًا؟» قَالَ وَهَلْ يُوجَدُ؟ قَالَ «رَجُلٌ تَعَلَّمَ آيَاتٍ» فَذَهَبَ فَتَعَلَّمَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ

✧ A man came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I bought the share of so-and-so and made such and such profit on it." He said: "Shall I not tell you of something with greater profit?" The man asked: "Does such a thing exist?" He said: "A man who learns verses." So he went and learned ten verses, then came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him.
