حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْجَعْدِ مَوْلَى بَنِي ضُبَيْعَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ تُوُفِّيَ وَتَرَكَ دِينَارًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كَيَّةٌ» وَتُوُفِّيَ آخَرُ وَتَرَكَ دِينَارَيْنِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «كَيَّتَانِ»

✧ I heard Abu al-Ja'd, the freed slave of Banu Dubay'ah, narrating from Abu Umamah that a man from the people of al-Suffah died and left a dinar, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "A brand." Then another died and left two dinars, so the Prophet ﷺ said: "Two brands."
